Lord, we pray for the Church, that great sleeping giant. Shake us out of our sleep. Awaken us to righteousness and holiness. Let us slumber no longer. Unify us under the blood stained banner of the cross that we may preach the gospel of the kingdom boldly without compromise. Let this revival be so encompassing that it touches and affects the spiritual complexion of our entire nation, influencing our politics, our economy, media, influencing our entire society.
Lord, we pray for revival to sweep through Your Church and the nation. We are the people You have chosen for your inheritance. Pour out Your Spirit upon Your people, the Church. Change our hearts Lord that we might represent You in the power and Spirit that you have invested in us. We pray for the spirit of unity among your Churches in America, as you and Your Son are one, that we may fill the nation with a mighty force of righteousness, truth and Your Glory.
Be exalted in your Churches and in the nation. Let signs and wonders and miracles follow your churches as the pastors boldly preach the gospel of the Kingdom throughout our country, proclaiming Godly standards, not with complacency. Open their spiritual ears to hear only what You are saying to them.
Lord, we hunger for your presence. You said that there would be a great outpouring of Your Spirit in the last days. We know that without a conviction of sin and spiritual brokenness, a holy fear of God and real repentance among your people, there will be no revival. Forgive us for our sins, cleanse us from our slackness, pour out your Spirit upon your people and bring revival to Your Church. AMEN!
Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?
Psalm 85:6
The psalmist is asking God for revival so that once again the people can have His presence and rejoice in Him. Where does revival begin? If you are not a Christian, you can't even be revived. You must be made alive in Christ. If you are a believer, draw a circle around where you are standing. Revival starts within that circle. The word revival means to be quickened, to be made alive, and to be restored.
If my people are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chron 7:14
Here Solomon speaks of a turning from their wicked ways. The word repent means to turn around and go the other way and that's what revival entails. It is turning away from sin and turning toward God and only then can they seek God's face. But they must first "turn from their wicked ways," and only then will God say, "I will hear from heaven."
Repent therefore and then turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus. Acts 3:19-20
Is your church seeking revival? Then start with yourself because only then can revival possibly spread to those around you in the church, then outward to the community, reaching out to the city, state, and nation.
